MiddCORE Immersion at Monterey

MiddCORE Immersion at Monterey

MiddCORE at Monterey extends the highly successful Middlebury program to the Monterey Institute. MiddCORE Immersion at Monterey relies on mentor-based experiential learning to build CORE strengths with an additional focus on social issues. Want to learn more? Read about the Monterey launch, or check out this article in The Monterey County Herald about one of the challenges that students completed during the 2013 session.

Social Change

MiddCORE Immersion at Monterey has a unique feature: a focus on social impact. To create effective social change and to lead organizations dedicated to social issues, students need to understand complex adaptive systems and deploy new forms of collective analysis, collaborative approaches, and coordinated action over long periods of time. Most important, they need to discover new roles, relationships, and responsibilities between public, private, and nonprofit organizations.

Who can apply?

MiddCORE Immersion at Monterey is open to all Middlebury College and Monterey Institute students. However, due to the nature of the course, availability is extremely limited. To apply, send your statement of interest to middcore@middlebury.edu.
