Professor TESOL/TFL at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey
Netta Avineri is a TESOL/TFL assistant professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). She is an applied linguist/linguistic anthropologist teaching education, intercultural competence, linguistics, research methods, and service-learning courses. Her research interests include language and social justice, critical service learning and interculturality, and heritage and endangered language socialization. Netta’s book Research Methods for Language Teaching: Inquiry, Process, and Synthesis was published in 2017 and she is the coeditor of Language and Social Justice in Practice: Case Studies on Communication and the Creation of Just Societies. She is also the MIIS Intercultural Competence Committee Chair and cofounded the MIIS Intercultural Digital Storytelling Project.
